The human body is genetically designed to eat carbohydrates and other easy to access energy sources. But, it also has the option to run on a multitude of fuel sources and be metabolically flexible when food is not readily available. And in today’s world, access to food created to play on the body’s cravings is plentiful and many of us consistently eat too much. Drew’s guest, Mark Sisson, explains how we can break the carb hungry cycle to become metabolically flexible and feel good. Mark is a 66-year-old endurance athlete dynamo who changed his athletic performance by changing his diet. He is the author of Primal Blueprint and his latest book, Keto for Life which he discusses in this podcast.

If you have been struggling with your weight loss goals know that a healthy body is about more than diet and exercise. The human brain is wired to find the easiest, fastest way to satiate hunger. Unfortunately in our modern world, processed food is designed to be quick and easy. So beating yourself up for reaching for a bag of something to snack on will only cause unnecessary stress. To change existing or create new habits and behaviors we need to create new neural pathways. Drew’s guest, Eliza Kingsford, helps her patients do just that. She is a licensed psychotherapist and author of the book, Brain-Powered Weight Loss. During this episode, she shares how our emotions lead us toward certain types of food, how our mindset can shape our eating patterns and the 3 Pillar Process she uses to change people’s lives.

Great strides forward are being made in the fitness, health, and wellness space every year. In labs, rigorous testing can be applied to food/fuel sources to qualify how they affect the body in its different states of exertion. UCAN’s founders were looking for a cure for a rare genetic disease when they discovered a process of cooking a starch that led to long-lasting energy. While they didn’t find a cure for the disease, they were able to create a Superstarch that offered the afflicted with a better quality of life. And, as an incredible secondary benefit, the manipulated starch offers athletes long-lasting energy that is keto-friendly. During this episode, Drew speaks with one of the founders of UCAN, Peter Kaufman about how the team discovered the starch, how it improves workouts, and why it is a perfect addition to a keto diet.

If there ever was a sign that the world is waking up to the interconnected consciousness of our planet it is that the mainstream media is opening up its doors to shamans, astrologers, and Yogis. It’s been a long time coming. The wellness community just needed a champion to push its transformative agenda forward. It seems that Drew’s guest, Tanya Khani, aka The Soulful Publicist is that champion. Tanya is connected to most of the enlightened thought leaders of our time. She finds ways to bring mindfulness and consciousness to traditional media in an artful way. During this interview, she discusses her early adoption of transformational thinking, how the universe prodded her toward her calling, and the obstacles she faces in completing her mission.

If you like the podcast subscribe & review it on iTunes | Stitcher

[9:30] Tanya had integrity, intention, and high emotional intelligence at a young age. She attended Landmark training and 14 and started working for lululemon at 18.

[17:21] After college, Tanya thought a career as a life coach was her calling until her mother’s astrologer and the universe led her down a different path.

[19:57] Tanya decided she was finished playing small and in an airport in Costa Rica got clear about her vision and brand.

[24:19] Breaking through traditional media to shine a light on consciousness and mindfulness is tough but Tanya pulls it off.

[30:05] The challenges and obstacles Tanya has faced working with the media and the consumer.
