In this powerful episode of The Fit2Fat2Fit Experience, Drew sits down with Dr. Ben Hardy to discuss his book “Personality Isn’t Permanent” and how awareness of identity can radically change your life. They discuss objectively viewing  your personality as something that is constantly changing—especially when you are in a mindset of growth—and how to use this to define and shape your future self. They also discuss past experiences of trauma and how the past must be viewed as something that happened for you, not something that defines you, in order to grow past where you are in the present.

HIGHLIGHTS:

[11:25] Key things you can do to change your environment in order to achieve your goals.

[21:30] Ben discusses how trauma shapes personality, his chaotic childhood, and how to deal with unresolved trauma.

[28:35] Ben breaks down common myths about personality and offers alternative ways to view personality in order to facilitate personal growth.

[34:35] Ben and Drew talk about the bad science behind personality tests and how they can ultimately cause much more harm than good to your own personal growth or the growth of a business.

[40:26] The most effective and science-based ways to make radical changes in your life.

There is one key factor that is under your control which will make your dreams come true. You must believe you can. All the physical exertion in the world will make no difference if your mind isn’t set to become the person you want to be. Drew’s guest, Cornell Thomas, is a shining example of ‘if there is a will there is a way’. Every single twist and turn in Cornell’s inspiring story is enough to make most people give up, but not him. He made adversity his teacher. He has transitioned from wannabe basketball player to head coach to professional speaker and author and the sky's the limit for what is next. During this conversation, he shares the power of his mother’s faith, the struggles he faced while working toward his dream, and why he shares his message with the next generation.
